Kit available in my workshop, help provided for newbies.

I've been working quite a lot since last post, I've been away too... I'm back now and fully inspired!

Quilted and Applique

Wednesday, April 28, 2010

This is a project I've been working on for a while.
"The Monstera".
It's a hawaiian quilt (not a beast!) using the reverse applique technique. I choose linen as the background and regular cotton fabric for the pattern.
We have plenty of monstera plants here and I would like my quilt to reflect the lush nature that surrounds us despite the "flourishing" concrete buildings.
That's why it won't be only one but 4 leaves in my quilt. Two and a half are done! I'll show you one day!

It's my handy project. I bring it with me when traveling or going to quilting group, wherever I can't use my sewing machine. I can tell which part has been done in which place! Ask me!

At least but not last, here I am! I left my workshop, my needles and my beloved sewing machine to tell you about my little world.
Welcome to Ma Maison!
Just in time, it's tea time! O cha o nomimasu ka?
Would you like a cup of tea?

For our first rendez-vous I would like to show you this japanese style placemat in a tea leaf shape.

It's an easy-to-do quilting project for beginners available in a two times lesson or in a kit.
